Becca cosmetics, famous for its flattering highlighters, has quietly just dropped a new product – and social media is loving it.
The beauty press has been baffled by the complete lack of warning or information around the launch.
The new shade – called lilac geode – has a shimmering lavender ‘unicorn’ hue.
The product, which changes colour from purple to pink in the light, has been described as warmer-toned then the other holographic highlighters Becca has launched so far this year.
The highlighter is currently unavailable online, but appears to be on shelves in some branches of Ulta, where it will reportedly retail exclusively.
Becca used to be 100 per cent cruelty-free but was acquired by cosmetics giant Estée Lauder earlier this year, putting its cruelty-free status at stake.
A statement by Estée Lauder chief executive Fabrizio Freda has prompted many to speculate that Becca will eventually be launched into the Chinese market.
He said: “We believe Becca Cosmetics is ready to be leveraged further.
“We are well positioned to add amazing resources in social media, product development, research and development, and access to suppliers around the world. The other big resource is the access to global markets.”
The company itself says: “Becca is and will remain a cruelty-free company. ”
